    Please use parking spaces designated for CLIMB. The entrance for the building is in the parking lot that you access from Crescent ave. Once you enter the building you will see the elevator and the stairs. When you arrive at the second floor, turn left to enter into the community kitchen.

  • Yoga is a system of Self realization, recognizing a personal relationship with a higher power as essential to fullfilment. The Higher Power is of your choosing; it may be a diety, or a principle such as love. Exploring the possibilities is a part of Yoga Therapy

  • Fundamentally, the focus of Yoga Therapy focuses on the needs of you, the client, rather than focusing on methods and practices. All yoga has the potential to be therapeutic and healing , Yoga Therapy utilizes yoga exercises (both postures and breathing), teachings (philosophy), and meditation to promote health and wellbeing. Yoga Therapists are specially trained and certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists to prescribe Yoga techniques and practices to help individuals manage their condition, reduce symptoms, restore balance, increase vitality, and improve attitude. The Yoga Therapy practice at North Star HH is driven by the Yogic system of Self realization.

  • NO! The decision to choose hormone replacement therapy is best made with the help of informed, qualified medical professional, preferably one who is specializing in the unique time of life known as peri-menopause and beyond. Similarly, the choose to use pharmaceutical interventions for diagnosed conditions is best made with the help of informed, qualified medical professionals. Holistic care supports your overall wellbeing, including your autonomy and embracing your power to discern what is best for you.

  • It depends. While I rarely encourage weight loss as a primary goal, as your body and mind return to their natural state of optimum functioning your body may change shape or weight. Yoga Therapy includes guidelines on eating for your natural constitution which builds healthy digestion and utilization of nutrients. If you have a history of disordered eating, our approach is broadened to include trauma sensitivity considerations focused on transforming harmful thinking patterns into launch points for transcendence.

  • Trauma informed refers to specific practices that promote autonomy, embodiment, self-regulation and physiological relaxation; some of the keys to trauma recovery. All practices at North Star Holistic Health are trauma informed.

  • Ayurveda is the guiding science of Yoga Therapy, it is the oldest system of medicine known to humankind. Meaning “Science of Life”, Ayurveda is the system through which yoga is prescribed as medicine. The ancient wisdom of this holistic science has been recognized by more modern measurements of research and medical methodologies. This wisdom, combined with the modern, practical applications gives us the powerful practices of Yoga Therapy today.

  • The term medical massage is used to describe my skill level and the intention of the service. I have extensive training in the structure and function of the human body. A medical massage is directed towards a specific discomfort and/or in consideration of a health diagnosis.

  • YES!

    Pre-natal or pregnancy massage requires specialized training and knowledge of the physiological changes that take place during all three trimesters of pregnancy. You have a a choice of side-lying position or specialized pillows and bolsters that make a prone (face down) massage possible.

  • Craniosacral therapy is a gentle hands on approach to nervous system regulation and deep healing of the body and mind. Developed by Dr. John Upledger during extensive study and research during his time at The University of Michigan (1975-1983), CST relieves restrictions in the structures of the nervous system (sacrum, external and internal skull, spine (including the dural tube housed within the spine) to help reduce pain, relieve dysfunction, and improve whole-body health and performance. CranioSacral therapy facilitates your body's innate, natural healing ability, bolstering your immune system and improving your ability to maintain your natural state of harmony.

  • Somato Emotional Release (SER) is the organic unwinding of trauma held in the physical structures of the body such as the cells, tissue, organs, and functional systems of the physical body. This unwinding and subsequent release may occur spontaneously during a CranioSacral Therapy (CST) session or in the days after. The intentional facilitation of traumatic energy release from the body MAY be encouraged during a CST session, under certain circumstances.
